    This CLE provides an overview of the difference between trust and Trusts, breaches of trust and allied concepts and when a Trust is not a Trust, as well as many other components. It is presented by Tom Popejoy.

    Tom Popejoy practiced law in Albuquerque and elsewhere in New Mexico from 1972 through November, 2007, concentrating on litigation involving wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, heirship disputes and similar issues.  In December, 2007, he was appointed manager of the Wealth Management Group at New Mexico Bank & Trust.  Tom retired from NMB&T in April, 2011, and since then he has been working part-time doing mediations, consulting and seminar presentations.Tom is a 1971 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law and has served as an Adjunct Professor for the School, teaching among other things the basic law school course in Wills and Trusts in 1999.  He is a member of the American Law Institute, where he served on the Members Consultative Group working on the preparation of the Restatement Third of Trusts.  He is also a former fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
